Hello, I am Scott
An avid film buff since childhood, my dream was to make movies. My first experience working was as an Intern on the second season of “The Real World”. There I learned how the post production process went, and my interest in editing was sparked. My first real job in the industry was at a small production company that made “HBO First Look” and other Behind-the-Scenes style shows. My position was Post Production coordinator and I learned to manage the entire process from Camera to Broadcast. I primarily managed the Avid editing systems and started to learn how to edit, while performing the assistant editor duties such as digitizing and logging footage, organizing projects, and managing the machine room equipment.
I went on to work at Universal Studios Creative, at the theme park division’s in-house production studio. A colleague and I worked together to create many types of videos for the parks. Notably was the first video onboard the Backlot Tram tour. Using the Universal library of films, over 100 video clips were created, including numerous montages like “Classic teen comedy”, and the films of “Spielberg”, “John Wayne”, etc. DVDs were authored to play on demand as the tram guide narrated. Over the years, the systems changed to have digital players.
My next position was at DDB Worldwide Communications, as the in-house AV Supervisor/Director. DDB, a top advertising agency, produced media for major companies such as Wells Fargo, Epson, and Activision. I was the go-to person for all things Audio Video related including editing, managing all agency equipment, performing shoots, and assistant producing broadcast radio and TV commercials. The position entailed billing hours to clients, creating an additional profit center for the company.
I then worked at Planet C Studios, a contractor for Universal Studios and Warner Bros. While there, videos were created for the Universal Studio tour to commemorate the 100th anniversary. Videos for Transformers: the ride, and the Warner Bros. visitor center/ tour media were also created.
Planet C Studios was tasked with creating walk-through environments at Warner Bros. Halloween Backlot Event, “Horror Made Here”, for “The Conjuring”, “Nightmare on Elm Street”, “It” and others. My responsibilities included creating the ambient audio tracks and installing the speaker/ playback systems. The event was a success and ran for 2 seasons, but was interrupted during the pandemic.
